Romania’s loss-making state owned rail freight operator, CFR Marfa, is to be privatised as a condition imposed by the IMF and the EU in return for an aid deal in 2011.  The starting price for the rail freight unit has been set at 180 million Euros, and three candidate companies have been qualified for the second phase in the privatisation process.
