The volume of container cargo through Vietnam’s seaports increased by 7 percent last year.
With higher freight rates and supply chain issues, investment is required to develop the shipping fleet and ports.
Vietnam has a long coastline which borders the Gulf of Thailand, the South China Sea, and the Gulf of Tonkin.

There are three main port cities; Hai Phong in the North, Ho Chi Minh City in the South, and Da Nang in the central region. Amongst the leading container ports in Asia based on cargo capacity, Ho Chi Minh City port handles the largest share of cargo in Vietnam.
