In western Ukraine, about 1,100 freight train wagons carrying grain are stuck near the main rail border crossing with Poland. They are unable to export the cargo.
These are some of the 24,190 wagons carrying various export goods, which were waiting to cross Ukraine’s Western border as of Tuesday.
The main ports are blocked off by Russia’s invasion, and Ukraine is struggling to export its grain and other goods, according to government officials. Kyiv is looking for alternative export routes by land, but that effort has been hampered by logistical challenges and red tape.
