The French national railway has signed an agreement with India’s railway board to co-operate on the modernisation of the country’s rail network. India has one of the for;d’s largest railway networks, which carried about 2.8 million tonnes of freight traffic per day in 2011. Freight volume was predicted to rise by more than 5% last year.
