The British International Freight Association advises that HMRC has clarified its policy on Authorised Economic Operators. Importers and exporters using, simplified Customs procedures, such as inward processing relief (IPR), customs warehousing, temporary storage, will have to fulfil AEO criteria. Otherwise they will have to provide financial guarantees to cover the VAT and Duty suspended under the AEO scheme.
