The International Air Transport Association’s five year forecast predicts reasonable future air cargo growth. They suggest that international freight volumes a expected to increase as a compound annual growth rate of 4.1 per cent over the next five years. The USA,China and the UAE will each contribute an additional 1 million tonnes of freight by 2018.

The UAE is expected to replace Germany as the third-largest market.
