Stephen Willis – Managing Director
After graduating with a Business Studies degree specialising in transport, Stephen worked in the city for a Dutch shipping line before joining R W Freight to specialise in administration and finance. As these functions have become more streamlined with the improvement of systems, his role has expanded to include internet marketing and system development.
As a Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, Stephen has a wide knowledge of the freight forwarding industry and the importance of marketing and cost control and keeps abreast of developments, both in the freight industry and in technology.
Peter Willis – Operations Director
Peter began his training in the freight business at a major international freight forwarder, and went on to qualify as a Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. After joining the family business he broadened his experience of exports and imports, which prepared him well for taking over the operational side when his father retired.
Peter is now responsible for training and managing operations staff, whilst also steering special projects and maintaining relations with agents and suppliers.
Steve Gosling – Sales Manager
Having worked in several different companies in the freight sector, Steve brings a lot of knowledge and experience of the market to his role as Sales Manager.
With European forwarding as his specialist area of expertise, his breadth of experience means he can solve customers’ transport problems with creative solutions.
Jane Willis – Quality Director
Being keen on European languages, Jane chose to pursue secretarial skills in French and German; having achieved a diploma in this she worked in the Eastern European department of a major pharmaceutical company before deciding to return to college and gaining a BA (Hons) in Business Studies with marketing.
This led to an interesting career in cosmetics for the domestic market, but on joining RW Freight she became involved in international business once again. With RW being one of the first freight forwarders in the country to achieve the Quality Management system BS5750, she expanded on her role as Quality Manager by taking on responsibility for liability claims handling.
Since then, her responsibilities have grown to include training, recruitment and internet marketing. A particular area of interest is China; the company has developed traffic from this area by helping new importers with its specialist knowledge and expert advice.
