Merchandise exports from India rebounded and grew 2.25% in July, helped by increased shipments of organic goods, drugs and pharmaceuticals. Imports fell, narrowing the trade deficit.

Exports had fallen 9.71% in June amid intensifying trade tensions between the US and China. The Indian government has started on plans to boost exports, including a new export promotion scheme.
