A recent report published by a shipping analyst shows that container shipping reliability is improving.  The report shows that 69% of container ships arrived either on the day scheduled or on the day before.  It is suggested that this is due to fall in global demand – shipping lines are running fewer services, with the result that container terminals are no longer under pressure, and ships do not have to wait for a berthing slot.  The improved reliability will help shipping lines increase freight rates to their customers.
