As tastes change in emerging markets, the USA benefits from higher exports, especially to Asia. Exports to established markets are also improving.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation said;

“We continue to see very good momentum on the beef side globally”. U.S. beef exports increased by 6 percent in volume year over year in September and should exceed $8 billion in 2018.

The gains in exports were primarily in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. Exports to Mexico also did well, holding steady compared with last year.
