The Federal Customs Service in Russia is proposing to move the majority of regional container freight traffic from road to trains and local shipping services.  The Finnish Transport and Logistics Association has opposed this suggestion, saying that it will result in chaos as the ports and rail freight border controls in Russia will not be equipped to cope with the increase in volumes.  The Association is supported by the Finnish Transport Minister.  A decision is awaited by an EU comittee.
