The south coast UK port of Southampton (STN) suffered the collapse of an overhead container gantry crane on friday 18th January 2008 resulting in the port running at reduced capacity whilst health and safety checks are made on the other container lifting equipment. Shipping lines using the port announced delays in their arrival schedules.
