The Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits UCP 600 comes into effect on 1st July 2007. The banking commissuion of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has defined these rules which  cover the use of documentary credits worldwide. The previous version UCP 500 was approved in 1993.
