Spanish exports hit a new high in 2016. Companies have been continuing to expand internationally because there has been an unprecedented economic crisis at home.

Total exports jumped to a record 255 billion euros. This was the the seventh year of expansion and narrowed the nation’s trade deficit to a three-year low. The increase was led by exports across euro-area nations. Export sales to Latin America and the Middle East declined.
