International cargo operations at Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, East Java, face delays. State airport operator Angkasa Pura and publicly listed cargo and ground-handling firm Jasa Angkasa Semesta have become involved in a dispute.

JAS suspended the handling of international freight carried by Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air and AirAsia at the airport on last week.

JAS corporate secretary claimed that AP I had violated an agreement made between the companies and the Transportation Ministry, by taking over the international cargo operations recently.

A copy of the agreement that was obtained by The Jakarta Post shows that on July 21, AP I agreed to assign subsidiary Angkasa Pura Logistik (APLog) and JAS to handle international freight and post at the Juanda Airport according to their licenses.
