Exports of soybean meal from India are expected to reach a record high in the year starting on October 1.  More than usually heavy rainfall has resulted in a larger crop, and it is expected that production may be 38 per cent higher than last year. Exports, to countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, may increase to as much as 4 million metric tonnes for the year. Traders have contracted to export consignments of 150 000 tons to 200 000 tons to importers in Vietnam and South Korea for delivery by the end of 2010.
