An Indian railway company is offering free land to developers who wish to develop rail freight terminals.  The East Central railway hopes that their offer of free land will revitalise shipping and freight links in the region, as current facilities cannot cope with the volumes of freight passing through the area.  Applicants must undertake to develop viable intermodal logistics terminals on sites with three adjacent lines, but they must first deposit around £150 000.  The deposit is repayable if the plans are rejected.
