The property company which is attempting to develop a new rail freight interchange at Radlett against severe local opposition, has now issued a statement following Eric Pickles rejection of the scheme.  The Appeal Inspector had already given the go-ahead to the development, and his decision was reversed by the secretary of state.   The developer says that the concerns raised by the St Albans District Council had already been tested at an earlier enquiry.  Protesters argue that a site in Colbrook is more suited to the needs of the freight industry.
