According to a recently published report, investment in rail freight is vital to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The report, by the Transport Committee of the House of Commons, recommended that fund for the Strategic Freight Network should be maintained for the next funding period, as moving freight from road to rail could reduce carbon emissions by 70%. The Rail Freight Group welcomed the report’s findings.
