Freight and logistics workers are being encouraged by the international development agency Transaid to participate in an African cycle challenge. The charity, sponsored by major logistics companies, support various projects in Africa connected with the international transport industry. In particular, they are supporting professional driver training in Zambia in order to help reduce the number of people killed in road accidents. They are also sponsoring AIDS awareness for drivers, who play a big part in spreading the virus from one country to another in Africa. The challenge for 2010 is a cycle ride through Tanzania from 6 – 14 November.
