Although recession in China seemed quite possible at the beginning of 2009, the government has managed to stave this off by a huge investment infrastructure and other public works.  Logistics and freight forwarding companies have benefitted from the consequent growth in the economy, particularly those carrying imports into China from Europe, Japan and south Korea.  However, exports did suffer from the decline in demand from western countries hit by falling consumer demand, and China is now trying to better balance exports and imports.
