Capacity for freight in the Tunnel is far ahead of demand, and Eurotunnel is desperate to attract more freight trains; the difficulty is in co-ordinating the logistics so that shippers can get their cargo to the tunnel, through it and delivered to destination.  Customers need their logistics train managed as well on rail as it is on road, but it is possible to lose a train for several days between the point of origin and the destination.  The rail freight industry needs to offer predictable services if they are to be able to compete with road freight.
