Requirements for collecting cargo from UK airport transit sheds have been agreed between representatives of the Transit Sheds, the Freight Forwarding community and hauliers collecting freight from the Sheds. The haulier must supply Identification and a valid collection order. He will also be invited to supply a thumbprint; this will not be compulsory, but if the driver does not comply there may be a delay in releasing the cargo whilst further ID is sought by the operator of the Transit Shed. Full details of the requirements are available on the website of the the British International Freight Association.
