The Shipping Ministry of India is taking steps to improve port security after the Mumbai terrorist attacks in November. The terrorists apparently arrived by sea, so the National Shipping Board is reviewing security arrangements. Several of the main ports will soon have their own elite marine commando units with modern equipment to deal with any seaborne threat.
