In line with the slow down in world economies, throughput at Shanghai, the largest container port in China, actual reduced in May and June this year. So the port authorities are developing strategic planning to encourage growth against economic trends. One of the main ideas is to improve the infrastructure of China’s inland provinces, to facilitate the movement of people and cargo to the ports. Chongqing will be the capital of western China and a logistics hub for the inland reaches of the river Yangtze.
