In a bid to improve logistics efficiency, the Port of Prince Rupert in Canada is encouraging the development of transload operations. IntermodeX, an intermodal logistics provider, has recently proposed the establishment of a transload facility in close proximity to Prince Rupert’s Fairview Container Terminal.
The primary objective of this facility is to attract import containers, thereby streamlining the cargo handling process and optimising supply chain management. This strategic move by the port authorities and IntermodeX demonstrates their commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of Prince Rupert as a key logistics hub in the region. By providing efficient transload services, the port aims to attract more international trade and solidify its position as a preferred gateway for cargo movement.
