A spokesman of the ministry of Industry and Commerce, said that the most important export items through air corridors include heng, saffron, dried fruits, fresh fruits, and carpets.
Most exports via air freight were destined for countries like India, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Germany, and Canada.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said: “Afghanistan’s exports through the country’s airfield in the year 1402 amount to 247 tons worth $145 million, consisting of heng, dried and fresh fruits, precious and semi-precious stones, clothes, chickpeas, carpets, saffron, kitchenware, and goat and cow hides.”
The Chamber of Commerce and Investment said airfreight exports are important for economic growth and emphasized that the cost of transportation through air corridors should be reduced.
