High initial stocks, good export demand and high prices have driven Bulgarian wheat exports in 2023-24 to 3 million tonnes as of early November. This is an increase of 260% from the previous year, according to a report from the US Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS).
Of the 3 million tonnes of exports, 2.2 million tonnes were exported to non-EU countries. Primary non-EU destinations were South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Morocco and Algeria.
