Exports of COVID-19 test kits from South Korea have hit an all-time low since the pandemic began to spread globally in 2020.
Exports of COVID-19 test kits in November amounted to $74.47 million. This is the lowest since April 2020, when the first wave of the pandemic spread widely across the globe.
At the peak, exports of test kits hit over $500 million in each of January and February 2022.
The decrease in exports mirrored the drop in the number of COVID-19 cases globally.
The number of confirmed cases around the world recorded an average of some 3 million a day in January. By November, the average dropped to some 300,000 a day, according to global data tracker Our World in Data.
