Whisky is becoming more popular in Korea; the quantity of whisky imported for 10 months until October this year increased about 62% compared to the same period last year.
The value of imports of whiskys such as scotch, bourbon, and rye from January to October this year was $218.0 million, an increase of 61.8% from $134.8 million during the same period last year.
The volume of whisky imports peaked at $270.3 million in 2007, then showed a decline, falling to $132.5 million in 2020, and climbed back 32.4% to $175.3 million last year.
