North Korean markets sellers are complaining of stagnant sales and revenue although there has been an influx of food imports from China.
Prices of imported foodstuffs have been on the decline in Chongjin’s markets since last month but revenues are not increasing because consumer interest is low.
Supplies of foodstuffs imported from China — including oil, seasonings and sugar — have recently been increasing in Chongjin’s markets, causing prices to fall.
