The UK has increased imports of cod from Norway after the government imposed a tariff on Russian imports.
Previously, more than 40% of cod used in traditional fish and chip shops was imported from Russsia, but after the imposition of an import tariff of 35% UK fish fryers appealed to Norway to provide more cod.
NOrway has exported 8000 metric tons of frozen whole to Great Britain — 43% more exports than last year.
