UKHMRC are implementing a new Customs Clearance system, starting later this year, called CDS. This will replace the current CHIEF system, so all importers and exporters need to be aware of the action they need to take.
From 1st October 2022: all UK import customs entries can only be made on CDS.
From 1st April 2023: all UK Export customs entries can only be made on CDS.
Importers and Exporters will need to obtain a new ‘Government Gateway user ID to the Customs Declaration Service’, so that they can submit import and export declarations using software.
