Companies in Shenzhen, in southern China, are preparing for a seven-day lockdown, which is the longest since the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic.

They are hurrying to complete their exports, asking for loan extensions and asking employees to work from home.

Shenzhen is the main tech and manufacturing hub in China; all are ordered residents to stay indoors until March 20.

Shenzhen’s Yantian Port, one of busiest in China remains open, with tighter Covid-19 measures in place.
