African Swine Fever (ASF) is spreading in Europe. Farmers in the UK have asked the Government to prevent the import of pork from the affected countries.

NFU Scotland asked the UK government to stop pork imports into the UK from European countries with confirmed cases of ASF.

NFU has told the Government that no checks have been carried out on pork imports from the EU since January 2021.

ASF can have up to 100 per cent mortality rate and there is no vaccine for the disease.
