A new air freight company is about to be launched to expand the export of from the Faroe Islands.
The company investing in the project is present in markets where a direct air route would benefit both the company and the environment.
The salmon is currently exported by sea to the British mainland or to Denmark then trans-shipped on flights across the Atlantic.
The new carrier is planning to purchase or charter a cargo plane as soon as possible. The inbound flights should also create opportunities for Faroese importers, and open new possibilities for businesses in Scotland.
