Vietnam’s fruit industry exports about $50 million worth of fruit per year to the USA.
Fruit export turnover to the US increased by more than 20 percent in the first quarter of this year; a strong post Covid-19 recovery. This growth is expected to continue in the future, because of increasing market demand.
The USA is Vietnam’s second-largest import market, after China. It imports in total about $150 million worth of fruit each year. This is significant in creating a driving force for fruit growers to improve the quality to meet the requirements of other demanding markets.
