Danish Exports have declined overall during the last year due to Covid 19, but new figures from Statistic Denmark show that exports are increasing for the second month in a row. Higher export sales to China and the United States are the main reason.
Exports of goods and services increased by exactly 0.9 percent from January; exports are one of many economic key figures closely followed by economists and politicians to measure the economy of Denmark.
A bank economist said “Exports have started well in 2021 despite a period marked by high infection rates and partial closures in many of our trading countries.”
The business organization Dansk Industri reports that exports in the past year, because of closures and restrictions, have fallen by DKK 117 billion. Export of services – including airlines and travel agencies – are especially badly affected.
