Australia exported a little over 146,000 metric tons (MT) of the fruit overseas in the 2019 season, meaning a rise of 33%.
Imports into Japan’s market have been spectacular, even though Australia is only allowed to export three varieties to Japan. The marked increase in exports can be attributed to new vines coming into production and a strong growing season.
