Norway has decided to enforce restrictions on sales of defence-related technology to Saudi Arabia. Currently controversy surrounds KSA due to its involvement in the civil war in Yemen.
The Minister minister for foreign affairs in Norway, said no new licences will be granted for defence-related technology or dual-use systems.
“The decision was taken after an overall assessment of recent developments in Saudi Arabia and the region and the unpredictable situation in Yemen,” the government said.
Norway has never permitted exports of arms or ammunition to Saudi Arabia and it is not aware of any Norwegian defence-related products having been used in Yemen.
