Kazakhstan is planning to increase the volume of grain exports by the end of 2017. “We plan to export about 9.1 million tons of grain and flour in 2017. This is 400,000 tons more than in the previous year,” said the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazkahstan Nurzhan Altayev at a meeting of the parliament.
In December, the country is planning to export 1.3 million tons of grain and flour, using 16,500 freight transport units (11,940 grain trucks and 4,776 covered wagons).
“Currently, tariffs of Kazakhstan railways are fixed at the level of 9,000 tenge per wagon per day. We will subsidize grain transportation within Kazakhstan to increase the competitiveness of the export of Kazakh grain from January 1” the deputy minister said.
