The British International Freight Association has issued a warning to freight forwarders to be wary of counterfeit goods, especially those which may infringe intellectual property rights.  There has been an eighteen fold increase in the quantity of suspected goods being detained by EC Customs, and – while freight forwarders are not the owners of the goods they transport and should not therefore be responsible for counterfeiting – they should still exercise vigilance.
