The British International Freight Association has issued a warning to freight forwarders to be wary of counterfeit goods, especially those which may infringe intellectual property rights. ┬áThere has been an eighteen fold increase in the quantity of suspected goods being detained by EC Customs, and – while freight forwarders are not the owners of the goods they transport and should not therefore be responsible for counterfeiting – they should still exercise vigilance.
