Oil rig workers in Norway are in dispute with Statoil, one of the largest producers, over plans to change the pension system.  The National Mediator has set a deadline of 23 June for resolution of the dispute, but workers will not take strike action until the rigs have been shut down safely.  However, a long term strike would mean that Norway would eventually have to reduce oil exports, which are one of its main sources of revenue.
