International trade with China is beginning to recover in response to the government’s economic stimulus package.  The economy expanded by approximately 8.9% in the third quarter of this year, and air and sea freight operators are taking the opportunity to increase rates.  Prices for services from China to Europe, China to South America, and China to Austrailia have increased by up to 100% compared with the lowest rate in 2008.  Air and ocean freight capacity was reduced in the face of world recession, and rates have therefore hardened.
