Shipping lines hike rates

The Asian Shippers Council, which represents exporters in Asia, has complained vociferously about the recent increase in container freight rates introduced by all the trans Pacific container lines. The shipping lines argue that their finances are in such a dire strait that they urgently need to raise extra revenue.
