Beijing Olympics - freight restrictions
If you are shipping to China, don't forget that there is now a whole range of restrictions on the movement of Dangerous Goods, as part of the security arrangements for the Olympic Games. In Shanghai the port will stop all work on Hazardous Goods from 20 July to 31 August 2008; for Qingdao, there are no written announcements although local opinion seems to be that hazards will not be accepted from 1 June to mid-October; in Hong Kong, there are no additional restrictions. As you can see, there is a huge variety of different regulations, so you need to check if any restrictions apply to your particular shipment and destination.
