Break Bulk Cargo
Break Bulk cargo is the name given to freight that is stowed directly in the hold of a Coventional Cargo vessel. Prior to the advent of containerisation, all maritime freight was carried as break bulk cargo, and freight vessels spent long periods in port as the loading and unloading process was slow.
